We are looking for a professional and enthusiastic, seasonal Traffic Accommodation Supervisor, to work full-time in our Swift Current location for the 2018 construction season.
 
SUMMARY
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Traffic Accommodation Supervisor is responsible to properly create and maintain a safe work zone in a highway traffic environment.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Be able to work with supervisors and project managers to ensure traffic operations are in place and to provide a safe work zone
  • Ensure Traffic Control Devices are installed, positioned, relocated or removed as conditions change
  • Flag training new employees
  • Ensure flag persons perform traffic control duties competently and safely by relaying the proper information
  • Ensure that flag persons are properly informed concerning road conditions and wearing proper personal protective equipment
  • Performing temporary flagging duties for required breaks or as needed
  • Finalize traffic control measures with Supervisors/Project Managers
  • When required by Ministry of Transportation (MIT); direct the implementation of the Traffic Control Plan (TCP)
  • Monitor traffic operations to determine the effectiveness of the Traffic Control Plan (TCP)
  • Ensure that the Traffic Management Plan (TMP) is up to date
REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • Class 5 Drivers License
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years’ experience within the road construction industry
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
  • Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
  • Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Willing to work out of town and in remote locations, as required.
  • Willing to work overtime, as required.
