NWT Construction Ltd. is looking for an experience seasonal UNDERGROUND SUPERINTENDENT (Water and Sewer), for our 2018 construction season, to work full-time in our division located in Yellowknife.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Underground Superintendent ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Lead and direct people, equipment and resources in the installation of waterlines, sanitary sewer, hydrant vaults, ductile iron, and Victaulic products.
  • Allocate resources where appropriate to achieve project safety, schedule, cost, scope and quality objectives.
  • Organize and coordinate daily activities of crew, subcontractors, equipment and keep projects on time and on budget.
  • Review and adhere to construction schedules, plans and specifications, achieving milestones and completion dates.
  • Oversee the performance of all sub-contractors, ensuring that work is completed on time.
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all parties to adopt a safety culture.
  • Other duties as necessary.
  • Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 yrs experience within the road construction industry with focus on extensive water and sewer experience.
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably as an Underground Superintendent.
  • Must comply with Drug and Alcohol testing, as well as Fitness testing requirements.
  • Willing to work overtime and out of town (remote locations), as required.
  • Work is performed in outdoor settings, and includes inclement weather, heat/humidity, and exposure to dust/asphalt.
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
