Senior Materials Technologist

E Construction Ltd. is currently looking for seasonal, full-time Senior Materials Technologist to work in various locations throughout Alberta.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lab preparation, set up and maintenance
  • Collect and review contracts and project related documents prior to the commencement of production.
  • Ensure the correct test equipment and supplies are available and serviceable.
  • Documenting, reporting and filing of plant calibrations.
  • Provide quality control and quality assurance on a variety of laboratory and file testing projects which include aggregate production, field density, concrete and asphalt.
  • Control and manage contract specifications on small to multimillion dollar projects while maintaining high and consistent accuracy.
  • Test road construction materials such as asphalt concrete pavement and granular base course.
  • Provide technical advice during bidding. i.e. asphalt contents, gradation splits and suitability of aggregates.
  • Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.
  • Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics. 
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
  • Other related duties as required.
 
REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE 
  • Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license.
  • Prior experience working within a paving company is a definite asset.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of road and civil construction related experience in the Quality Control field.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Availability to work out of town and extended overtime hours, as required.
